0 MAC A Fantasy of Flowers lipstick haul

Bought 4 lipsticks from A Fantasy of flowers. All 4 lippies are of the lustre finish and have sheer colour payoff which requires layering for the color to appear. I would not comment on the lasting power as being Lustres (high shine texture), I would not expect them to last long on me. Anyway, I don't mind touching up my lippies.  The colours I bought were

Snapdragon
Heavenly Hybrid
Dreaming Dahlia
Rose Lily

Of the 4 lipsticks I love Dreaming Dahlia the most and Rose lily the least (Rose lily no matter how much effort I tried in prepping my lips still appear patchy on me :( )

Snapdragon has a slightly shimmery finish which when applied makes it look like I am wearing a gloss with shimmers in it. I had to layer about 3 to 4 layers of this color to get it to appear more opaque. Its quite a nice colour, but I wished it could be slightly more opaque. It's strange that some Lustre lipsticks have more color payoff, whilst others are more sheer. Would not recommend this to people with very pigmented lips, as it would probably end up looking like u were just wearing a layer of whitish pink shimmery gloss with sheen  on lips with not much color payoff.

Heavenly Hybrid This has slightly more payoff than snapdragon and once again as it is a Lustre lipstick it applies more sheer on the lips than how it looks like on the tube (refer to the 2 pics above). For this lippie I needed only 1 - 2 layers for it appear on my lips.  It applied smoothy on the lips

Dreaming Dahlia It is not as bright as in a tube, and requires about 2 layers of application. But it is a very pretty coral colour and goes on pretty smooth. This is my favourite of the 4 lippies from this collection. Such a wearable everyday colour.

Rose Lily I dislike this lipstick a lot. Not only is it sheer, but it goes on patchy on me no matter how much I prep and prime my lips. And I notice that I always have this problem with milky pink lipsticks of similar colours. But still I keep buying them Geesh. I think I must make it a point not to buy any more milky pink lippies. From experience, They turn out horrible on me... Patchy like u can see in this pic. I tried applying and reapplying several times to get a good pic, but alas this was the best i could get (Yeah I know it looks UNFLATTERING and not evenly applied, but this is the problem I have with this lipstick) If u were to ask me to rate this lippie. I would give it 1/5. Sheer and uneven application. :X

0 MAC Playland haul

When i first saw promotional pics for this collection, I knew I had to get most of the lipsticks and the 3 casual cheek and lip colours. I was naturally drawn to the pinks and coral lippies in this collections . I ended up getting the following

Enjoy It all lipstick  - Amplified creme (Exclusive to Asia only)
Happy go lucky - Amplifed creme
Sweet experience - Amplified creme
Toying around - Amplifed creme
Head in the clouds - Frost
Red Balloon - Amplied creme

Lots of laughs Lipglass
Pure Silliness Lipglass

Hi Jinx Casual colour lip and cheek colour
For your amusement Casual colour lip and cheek colour
Young at heart Casual colour lip and cheek colour.

Overall, I am loving everything that I bought ..with the exception of perhaps Sweet experience lipstick. Unlike the other amplified creme lipsticks in this collection which went on smoothly on my lips, this went on patchy on me with or without a lip primer and emphasized on the flakiness of my lips even more that I had to use a lots of laugh lipglass over it :( Alas it was a nice bubblegum peachy pink though.  This is a pic of me wearing For your Amusement casual colour (on cheeks), Sweet experience lipstick and lots of laugh lipglass.

Alhough Happy go lucky and Enjoy it all lipstick look very different in the tubes, when i wore them on, they do look quite similar (Enjoy it all is just a tad more muavey-purplish than Happy go lucky). Nevertheless I do like both of this colours as well.

Toying around is the gem in this collection... a beautiful coral which I feel all skintones can carry off. It was no wonder that this was the first one to fly off the shelves at my local counters

Head in the clouds is the only frost finish lipstick in this collection... and unlike some of MAC other frost finish lippies which can be a tad drying n patchy on me , this is surprising smooth and creamy to apply. Thumbs up.

Red Balloon kinda reminds me of MAC's All fired up lipstick which is a retro matte finish in terms of colour that both are red with pink undertones to it whilst Red balloon is an amplified and more creamy finish, more wearable for daily wear although it is still a bright colour. I love this colour as well

Unfortunately I haven't had the time to take swatches of the lipglosses and casual colour on colours myself (other than Young amusement casual colour), but I would have to say i am loving the colors of both the lipglasses i bought. They are a perfect match with the lipsticks that i bought.

As for the casual colours, I prefer to use them as cream blush on the cheeks as they give such a nice dewy flush of colour on the cheeks ( My favourite of the three is For your Amusement). I tried using them on the lips, but i felt they were a bit drying on my lips, so i will just stick to using the casual colour just on my cheeks for that healthy dewy flush of colours on the cheeks. Just like any other cream blushers, i use either my 187 stippling brush to apply or just my good old fingers to dab out and blend. Both ways work equally well for me, sometimes i use a combination of both the brush and fingers.

All in all i would rate this collection a 4.5/5 (-0.5 becoz of sweet experience). A very good Spring collection from MAC.

Thanks for reading!

0 Illamasqua nail polishes in Nomad and Collide

I am quite a lazy person and seldom put on nail polish unless i have to. But if u were to ask me which brands do i like for nail polishes, other than YSL and OPI, I do like Illamasaqua's even though they are more known for their make up.

Most of their nail polishes (why I say most, is because there are a few colours which still need serveral coats of layering before I get the opaque finish) give a opaque finish which just one or two coats. Secondly, the ones I bought all applied smoothly without streaking and I like that the brush is thick, so it helps me to apply the nail polish more easily .

2 of the colours I bought from them are Nomad (mint green) and Collide ( a neon pink with slight coral undertone to it). I love them both equally.  As for lasting power, HEHEHH,,,nail polishes NEVER last long on me regardless what brand I use (the max maybe about 2 or 3 days before chipping) because I tend to use my hands to do all kinds of stuff and I m not exactly a very gentle sort of person. But generally, I do like the colors of the illamasqua nail polishes which I bought. I currently own 7 of them

0 Purple Lips FOTD

Another of my favourite make up looks. I am so in love with MAC's heroine Lipstick which is a true purple and matte finish. So happy that they decided to make it permanent, but unfortunately it is still not available in my country. I previously got this baby from one MACs previous collection - Reel sexy. I feel it is a colour which most pple can wear this colour

0 MAC make up haul for January - Metallic Nude & Huggable lipcolors

Ok, so it's only the beginning of january but I've already overspent my budget by splurging on items from MAC's latest collectioN- Metallic Nude and Huggable lipccolors.

From Metallic Nude I bought:
1. Fairly precious extra dimension skinfinish (Light peachy pnk highlighting product)
2. Magnetic appeal extra dimension skinfinish (Light golden bronze - It's kinda an inbetween color of Glorfiy and whisper of gilt extra dimension skinfinish which was released previously)
3. Autoerotique extra dimension blush
4 Pleasure model extra dimension blush

For those who are new to MAC's extra dimension formula range of products, this range of products are a hybrid of cream and powder in one. They feel creamy-mousse like to the touch, but still give the ease of application as of that of a powder product.

From Huggable I bought 6 colors:
1. Commotion (looks like the glossy but more sheer version of MAC's rebel lippie)
2. Love Beam (sorry no picture yet)
3. Feeling amourous (a cross of MAC's insanely it lipstick & girl about town)
4. Fashion Force (Toned down version of MAC's korean candy sheen supreme lippie)
5. Cherry Glaze
6. Extra Sweet (Asia exlusive color)

The huggable lipcolors are a new formula created by MAC. Gel based and lasting power is about 6 hours of wear. Feels lip balmy on the lips. Color payoff, it is sheer to medium buildable with high shine. The more you layer, the more glossy it gets. Upon first application, it may feel a bit draggy to apply it on, but after layering it, it gets more smooth to apply. It's pretty hydrating on the lips and provides long lasting hydration on the lips and does not become patchy as with some MAC amplifed creme and matte do after few hours of wear

Here are some of the lip swatches of huggable lipsticks that i've worn so far

0 MAC Nocturnal pigment sets haul

It's been quite sometime since I last updated this blog and during this period of time, I've acquired a no of new make up items, but have no time to review them as of yet due to work commitments. Anyway here are some of the cosmetics from my latest haulage.

From MAC nocturnals,
I bought the purple pigment set and the black and gold pigment set. For the price of one set of pigments, it's high value for money as compared to their full sized ones. So if u have not tried MAC pigments before, this is a good time to get their pigment sets and try them out while getting value for your money.

Each set contains of 2 glitters and 3 pigments. The pigments are multi purpose and depending on the color, u can either use them as eye color, highlighers for the face and even lip colors. As for the glitters, as they are really chunky i would advise using a synthetic damp brush to press them onto the eyelid (withe a GOOD eye primer). The pigmetns are pretty ok for me to handle, just that the glitters doesn't adhere too well to the skin and need a bit more work for me to apply without getting glitters all over my face.

Packaging
I prefer this packaging to the previous years packaging for the pigments (excluding the crushed metal pigment sets) as the opening of the bottle is bigger and easier for me to pick up the color using my brush and slightly more stable the the old pigment set bottles which were slightly thinner and more unstable.

Will update this post for swatches of the pigments at a later time. =) Have a happy holidays!

0 Etude house pink lipsticks review

I bought a couple of Etude house (A Korean cosmetic brand for those who are not familar with Asian cosmetics) lippies sometime back and was planning to review these but haven't got a chance to review these till now. Being Pink lippie addict, when I swatched this in the store, I couldn't resist and bought them.

The colors I bought were PK002, PK014 and PK004. (I wish they would name their lipsticks in names rather than numbers, I have a hard time remember lipsticks in numbers rather than names)

Price range: about SGD $18 (I cant remember the exact price range but it's somewhere about this range) It's not cheap but it is not exactly expensive either.

Packaging: Comes in a cutesy pink plastic packagingwith a small pink ribbon at the bottom (Etude house is known for their cutesy girly packaging) which I don't exactly love nor hate.

Now on to reviews and swatches of the lipsticks

PK002 is a blue based cool toned pink which i feel works better for ladies with lighter complexion. It has a very creamy finish which is similar to that of MAC's cremesheen lipsticks. May go on a bit patchy  at times. Would suggest applying one layer of this first, blot off and apply and blot off again for it to apply more evenly. I cannot wear this color alone without another make up, it makes me look .... erm weird. But it pairs very well with cool tone e/s like pinks and lilacs and mint green.

PK014 is my favourite lipstick of the 3 colors I bought, It is a fuschia pink with a matte finish. Unlike many matte lipsticks which is super drying and draggy on my lips, this lippie applies very smoothly and evenly on my lips. It is the kind of color that suits ladies of all skintones and sometimes on my off day when I dont wear make up on my face, I would just wear this color to add a pop of color on my face. Reminds me a little of NARS schiap lipstick which is jus a tad slightly brighter than this color

PK004 also has the same creamy glossy finish as PK002 and has some coral undertones to it. It is also another color which can be worn without make up just to perk up the face. I do like this color but not as much as PK014 due to the texture. I would like this much better if the texture was like PK014. Like PK002, I need to put in effort to make this look non patchy on me. Sometimes, I just don't have the time to apply, blot, apply and blot again. :( Nice color though.

0 YSL Youth liberator Serum foundation

When I first heard that YSL was coming out with the youth liberator serum foundation, i was pretty excited bout it as I am current using their youth liberator skincare series which I really love as it helped my skin become more smooth and firm than before.

Basically, as the name goes, this foundation includes their youth liberator serum (glycans or youth keys) in it to for firming, anti-wrinkle and smoothing effect.

Features
1. Provides medium-buildable coverage (slightly more coverage than Le teint touche eclat
foundation, but i wouldnt call it full-full coverage, but it does help to cover up my pores
    and evening the skin tone)
2. Gives a natural finish (as compared to Le teint touche eclat foundation which gives more
of a high shine dewy finish)

Lasting power
1. About 8hrs of wear with a setting powder over it
2. Although this  doesn't claim to be sweat resistant, but when i danced vigorously and
sweated quite bit, it still stayed on the face without unning.

Conclusion
When I wear this, I received a lot of compliments on how good my skin was, so I will definitely be buying this again and again. I personally prefer to use this without powder on my cheek areas (with only some powder on the T-zone area, as my T-zone area tends to get oily after a while). The shade I bought was B20 (yellow toned), slightly fair on me at first, but after some time it settles and blends quite nicely into my skin. Recommend people with combination-oily skin to use an oil control primer below for even more lasting power
