0 Majolica Majorca Puff De Cheeks

For those who are have not heard or seen this brand before, it is a Japanese brand of cosmetics that is very popular in Asian countries, particularly in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. It is sort of like a western equivalent of a drugstore brand, but to be honest, their pricing are not really drugstore prices.

Would say the pricing is more of mid range. I do think their products are kinda overraved, but I couldnt help get sucked in by the cute packaging of their blushers. They look like tin shaped maracoons...awww so cute and yummilicious looking that I had to buy them. Besides, the colors are quite nice as well, so why not? (But I still stick to my stand that their other products are over raved. hahahaha. No offence to Majolica Majorca fans though!)

Here is the packaging of the blushers. Cute right??? =))

And they all come with a cute little puff in them too, though I wont be using the puff for applying the colors

Color payoff : Sheer to medium buildable. Of the 3 shades, OR302 is the only matte shade with no glitter. The other 2 RD 414 (Coral) and PK 415 (Muave pink) have some slight silver glitter in them.

Lasting power : Lasted on me for about 6 hours on my cheek area which is more dry than the T-zone. Faded slightly after that, but  still acceptable.

Pricing : SGD $23 for 7g worth of product. Would be cheaper in Japan, but not sure by how much.

0 Lunsol Star Shower eyes palettes

I bought only 3 of the palettes from the Star Shower series - namely Medium Night, Close of night and Dazzling night. As this series is a autumn collection, most of the colors in it are on the darker and more smoky side. And I would say that this series of palettes has to be one of the more pigmented ones from Lunasol. Although, the shadows are still shimmery, but it's not as glittery as the Nature series palette or the sheer contrast eyes series. If u like doing soft smokey looks, these palettes will probably appeal to you.

P/S In case if u have not read my earlier post about other lunasol palettes, Lunasol is a Japanese cosmetics brand that's under Kanebo and only available in Asian countries.

0 Shu uemura blushers

I am a blush addict and most of my friends know that. Other than MAC's blushers, another of my favourite brand for blushers is Shu Uemura. Their blushers are smooth and long lasting. The main difference between MAC's and Shu's blushers is that Shu's blushers is somewhat more soft in color and gives a natural sweet / dolly kinda look.

To be honest, most of the lighter pinks and peaches are probably too light to be used on ladies with darker skins (NC42 and above) For darker skin ladies, I would still recommend blushers from MAC / Bobbi Brown / Nars as they would appear on more on darker skin ladies. I personally find that Japanese brand blushers tend to be more sheer and less pigmented than Western brands and mainly cater to ladies with fair to medium skintone.

Below are the pics of Shu's blushers which I currently own. My favourite has to be Sakura, a very nice natural dolly pink. But unfortunately that's Limited edition. So i'm trying not to use it too often :X

Amongst the 4 pink shades here, P Pink 30 and Antique Pink are the only ones which will appear on most skin tones. M Pink 33E and Sakura are really nice as well, but imho only will appear on lighter skins

I think Shu Uemura makes really good peach blushers. They are very natural and soft in color and does NOT turn orange on me at all unlike some peach blushers I have tried. Although they call P Pink 36D a pink, but I find  that it's leaning more towards the peach side rather than pink even though it has some pink undertones in it.

My overall rating for Shu's blushers?
Price: 3.5 (Expensive but I like the colors )
Packaging: 4 (I like the clear plastic packaging, It's compact and easy to bring out)
Quality: 4
Would I repurchase again: Yep...definitely yes. If u like the natural sweet flush kinda cheek color, You'll probably like shu's blushers

0 Shu Uemura Holiday 2010 palettes (Abracadabra)

Was drawn towards the cute and funky packagin of the eye palettes in the collection. Even the box that came with the palettes were too cute to resist. Not to mention, the gwp promotion was quite attractive as well. (I kinda liked the pouch). With any purchase of at least one 2010 holiday item AND also a minimum purchase of SGD$200, you will get a gwp that consists of a abracadabra toiletry/make up bag plus a travel size of Shu's famous cleanse off oil, whitening lotion and ALSO a generous amount of their purple loose powder. I ended up buying both holiday palettes as I loved both of the packagin and the colors in them.

Each of the palettes consists of 2 mini cream eyeshadow colors and 3 powder shadows (2 minis and 1 full sized) plus a full sized blush. Damage = SGD$125. As tested at the counter, texture and pigmentation of the eyeshadows and blushers are of excellent quality, comparable to their regular ones. The cream e/s are also creamy and smooth to blend. No doubt it's a tad pricey, but I don't mind paying a bit more than usual for the packaging. Plus the colors in these 2 palettes are colors which I would wear.

Oh..and i love the gwp pouch that i got when i bought these 2 palettes. Material is made of satin and feels soft but not of inferior quality. And  there's quite a number of compartment inside for storing cosmetics / toiletries. Excellent for travelling.

0 Lunasol Nature Summer beige palette

To be honest, I am usually not a fan of brown or neutral e/s. This palette is about the only brown or neutral palette which I will ever wear. If u love shimmers and neutral eye colors, this is the IT palette for you. It was released with Lunasol's summer 2010 collection. The reason which I am only reviewing this Now is because I've been so caught up with MAC's LE collection that i have no time to review this.

Like most japanese e/s, the e/s in this palette is pretty shimmery, so if u are not a fan of shimmery e/s, stay away from this. But unlike most other japanese brands i've tried, the texture in this palette is smooth and silky. The shimmers are very fine and not big chunks of glitter. Color payoff is pretty decent for me - it's the kinda palette that u will never go wrong with as all the shades are all so wearable and easy to apply (not much blending needed. You will never worry about lookin bruised even with the dark brown in this palette). Highly recommended for fans of neutral colors and fans of shimmery e/s.

2 Shu Uemura Face architect liquid foundation

Ever since i bought it about 3 mths back, i've been faithfully using it almost everyday (It was only about a mth ago when i bought MAC's face n body foundation, that I sorta neglected it for a while...but now i'm back to it...).

Pros: Texture is smooth and feels pretty light on the skin although it's definitely not as lightweight as MAC's face and body foundation. It provides medium coverage (So if u are looking for full coverage, i dun think this is the foundation for ya...) and lasts pretty much on me the whole day without oxidising much.

Cons: Not much oil control.

Would repurchase this again and again. Have not broken out from this foundation and it evens out my skintone nicely while giving it a smooth feel. Good for days when i want some coverage... Would wear MAC's face n body foundation on days when i'm in the mood for really
"sheer" make up.

0 Lunasol Fall/Winter 2010 make up collection

I'm not really a big fan of Japanese brand make up in general as personally speaking, I find most of their e/s to contain OTT (Over The Top) shimmer with very very sheer color payoff.

Although Lunasol (It's under Kanebo Cosmetics for those who do not know) eyeshadows are sheer as compared to western cosmetic brands, but the colors are still buildable and pretty good for a japanese brand. Plus, the shimmers in the eyeshadow palettes are SHIMMERS and NOT glitters. There's a big big difference btw Shimmers and glitters. I like shimmers, but i don't like glitters! LOL. Generally, I prefer brands such as MAC or MUFE for their pigmented eyeshadows, but when i want to go for a more soft look, i would still reach out for my Lunasol palettes...especially on lazy days when i'm too lazy to blend e/s colors. Lunasol e/s palettes are really a breeze to blend even for make up beginners.

Downside is that, their e/s palettes are really expensive :X 77 SGD for one e/s palette.

Anyway back to their latest Fall / Winter collection, I bought all 5 e/s aurorized eye palettes  and 3 of the lipsticks...and without much further ado..here are the pics and swatches!

Aurorized Eyes series eye palettes

 Lipsticks

For Japanese brand lipsticks, I would recommend that if u have VERY pigmented lips, either u conceal your original lip color with a concealer / foundation otherwise, go for other brands like MAC which has much more pigmented lipsticks.  To be honest, I generally find that Japanese brand cosmetics (except Shu Uemura)  lippies to be really sheer although they are highly moisturizing for the lips. The same goes for Lunasol lippies. It almost feel like you are wearing a lipgloss in a tube form. Actually once u have bought a few colors,  I don't think u need to buy the rest anyway, cause they are so sheer until they look almost all the same on the lips... I only bought 3 colors from the collection, but i think they look almost all the same on my lips! OMG.. lol but yes they are very moisturizing n GLOSSY.

Damage: SGD 46 per lipstick . . . . . Splurge only if u have too much cash to spare. LOL!

MAC lustre lipsticks give the same glossy effect and are much cheaper... and not to mention their range of colors is much wider. If u are on a budget, but yet want a moisturizing and GLOSSY lipstick, u can try MAC lustre lipsticks.

Blushers

The finish of the blushers are of sheer soft satin finishes with some subtle shimmers in them. Each blush comes with 3 different shades in the pan, the darkest being the cheek color and the lightest being the highlighting color. U can also choose to swirl and mix the colors together.
