0 MAC Playland haul

When i first saw promotional pics for this collection, I knew I had to get most of the lipsticks and the 3 casual cheek and lip colours. I was naturally drawn to the pinks and coral lippies in this collections . I ended up getting the following

Enjoy It all lipstick  - Amplified creme (Exclusive to Asia only)
Happy go lucky - Amplifed creme
Sweet experience - Amplified creme
Toying around - Amplifed creme
Head in the clouds - Frost
Red Balloon - Amplied creme

Lots of laughs Lipglass
Pure Silliness Lipglass

Hi Jinx Casual colour lip and cheek colour
For your amusement Casual colour lip and cheek colour
Young at heart Casual colour lip and cheek colour.

Overall, I am loving everything that I bought ..with the exception of perhaps Sweet experience lipstick. Unlike the other amplified creme lipsticks in this collection which went on smoothly on my lips, this went on patchy on me with or without a lip primer and emphasized on the flakiness of my lips even more that I had to use a lots of laugh lipglass over it :( Alas it was a nice bubblegum peachy pink though.  This is a pic of me wearing For your Amusement casual colour (on cheeks), Sweet experience lipstick and lots of laugh lipglass.

Alhough Happy go lucky and Enjoy it all lipstick look very different in the tubes, when i wore them on, they do look quite similar (Enjoy it all is just a tad more muavey-purplish than Happy go lucky). Nevertheless I do like both of this colours as well.

Toying around is the gem in this collection... a beautiful coral which I feel all skintones can carry off. It was no wonder that this was the first one to fly off the shelves at my local counters

Head in the clouds is the only frost finish lipstick in this collection... and unlike some of MAC other frost finish lippies which can be a tad drying n patchy on me , this is surprising smooth and creamy to apply. Thumbs up.

Red Balloon kinda reminds me of MAC's All fired up lipstick which is a retro matte finish in terms of colour that both are red with pink undertones to it whilst Red balloon is an amplified and more creamy finish, more wearable for daily wear although it is still a bright colour. I love this colour as well

Unfortunately I haven't had the time to take swatches of the lipglosses and casual colour on colours myself (other than Young amusement casual colour), but I would have to say i am loving the colors of both the lipglasses i bought. They are a perfect match with the lipsticks that i bought.

As for the casual colours, I prefer to use them as cream blush on the cheeks as they give such a nice dewy flush of colour on the cheeks ( My favourite of the three is For your Amusement). I tried using them on the lips, but i felt they were a bit drying on my lips, so i will just stick to using the casual colour just on my cheeks for that healthy dewy flush of colours on the cheeks. Just like any other cream blushers, i use either my 187 stippling brush to apply or just my good old fingers to dab out and blend. Both ways work equally well for me, sometimes i use a combination of both the brush and fingers.

All in all i would rate this collection a 4.5/5 (-0.5 becoz of sweet experience). A very good Spring collection from MAC.

Thanks for reading!

0 NYX Beauty To Go box

Recently purchased Nyx Beauty to Go palette from a friend of mine. Here is the packaging and the contents:

As u can see from the picture, the Palette consists of
1. 13 x 4 = 52 eyeshadows of different textures both matte and non matte
2. 6 blushers (the strips of pink in the small little pull out tray)
3. 6 lipstick colors (the strips of color also in the small little pull out tray)
4. 6 x eye base / concealer and corrector
5. 2 bronzing powders
6. 2 face powders
7, 6 lipgloss pots
8. 2 lip pencils
9. 1 mascara
10. 1 pencil liner
11. 1 liquid liner

The price I paif for this palette for SGD$80, I do not know how much this palette cost in the US, But I personally feel that for SGD80 it's quite value for money considering how mcuh stuff I get in side the box.

Here are some close up shots of the products

Overall, I am in love with this palette. I've swatched the eyeshadow colors by themselves (Will post swatches up later), the color payoff is decent and is buildable with an eye primer. The only gripe i have with is this palette is that the size of the blushers are TOO SMALL. WHAT  THE STRIPS OF PINK ARE BLUSHERS? HOW the hell am I supposed to get my big brush onto the samll rectangular strips of pink????? :X :X :X And the packaging is quite bulky, so its kinda hard to bring it for travel although it is possible to.  But I guess this is the only way they could get it to fit so many products in one beauty box. Overall, this is a good buy. I cant wait to use the colors in it.

0 MAC Divine Desire full face kit - Paramour Pink

As promised, here's pics and a short review of the other face kit which I bought from MAC 2012 holiday sets in Paramour Pink. Packaging exactly the same with the Quite coral full face kit so shan't say anything more about the packaging.

This kit consist of 5 items
129SH brush
Warm embrace lipglass (a light pinksh lipgloss - I personally quite like this color alone as a soft wash of colors on the lips on light make up days)

Heart to Heart lipstick ( it looks more red to me rather than pink. Kinda reminds me of a more toned down version of MAC's speak louder lipstick. It's a cremesheen finish and does not emphasize the dryness and the fine lines on my lips like the Satins and Mattes do and has more color pay off than the Lustre finish)

Divine Desire blush (a reddish pink blush with a frost finish - warning, do not overload on this blush...it may be too frosty if over applied. Best used with a strippling brush)

Purple Daze technakohl - Regular item in the permanent line.

@ Our local counters, this was the first set to sell out and I can see why as this set can be worn by women of all skintone colors as compared to the other 2 sets which can quite pale on certian skintones. Would recommend this to people of all skintones as compared to the Quite coral set.

I am still thinking whether to buy the sinfully chic face kit to complete my full face kit sets... sighs...

Warm embrace lipglass

0 MAC Divine Desire full face kit - Quite Coral review

Phew, I am really quite broke from MAC's holiday season, what with the 6 items I bought from Glamourdaze and another 4 items from the holiday sets, I am done shopping for the rest of the month.

So one of the items I hauled was the Divine Desire full face kit in Quite Coral. Price is quite a killer for me over in my country :X :X as compared to the US, But I was drawn to the pretty satiny clutch packaging. UNFORTUNATELY, while taking swatch pics for this blog entry, one of my lipstick toppled over and stained my clutch. :( I am still trying to find a way to remove the lipstick stain from this clutch. So word of caution, if u do purchase the satin packaging sets from this collection, do be very very careful not to get any stains on them esp lipstick or liquid stuff, otherwise u might end up like me, having a hard time trying to remove the stain :(

So basically each of the full face kit contains of: 129SH brush, a Lipstick, a Lipglass, a small blush (the size about a Pro longwear e/s) and a regular shade of technakohl liner. The lipstick, lipglass and blusher are all LE colors, only sold in the sets.

Well enough of talkin here are pics of packaging of the face kit.

There is a small pouch/ compartment for the 129SH Brush that this set comes along with. And U can lift up the Divider, which has a mirror on the other side of it.

To convert this clutch into a jewellery case or case for storing other bits and pieces, u can actually remove the plastic pc that is holding all the products and it will look like this

Now for close up pics and swatches of the products....

I find that the blushers from the face kits have a slight frost finish to them, so it's not advisable to layer on too much of the color on the face if not it might get slightly too frosty, Otherwise I m loving this peachy corally blush from this set. As for the Lipglass, It looks pigmented in the tube, but it goes on quite sheer on my lips and I love this lipglass color as well

Am loving In a Heart Beat lipstick. It's a cremesheen formula so it's really moisturising for my lips which can be dry and chappy @ times. And I always like coral and peachy lipsticks so I love this shade as well.  And below are comparison swatchs of some other coral lippies from MAC which I own. Wanted to add in Ravishing, but I CANT seem to find it :( :(

Stay tuned for my next update on the other face kit which I bought in Paramour Pink =) HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all

0 Lunasol autumn 2011 haul

I love collecting Lunasol eye palettes as some of you who have previously followed my blog might know. Most of the times, I'm guilty of hoarding up these beautiful palettes and NOT using them. Cause they look so perfect, clean n pristine in the untouched state that I dun bear to use them....

Actually, I only planned on gettin maybe about 3 of the eye palettes from Lunasol's autumn collection, but when i went to the counter (as we all know how it is, we usually end up with more than what we actually planned to), and after swatching... I couldn't decide which to get as I liked all. So i ended up getting all.... 01 Neutral Beige, 02 Soft Beige, 03 Mysterious Beige, 04 Cool Beige and 05 Deep Beige. And i also ended up with a Full glamour liquid lips in 11 Natural light Beige. I kind of like the color of this gloss... It's nude but not too nude as to wash me out completely, and it's non sticky. As with most glosses, I need to touch this up after eating.

As for the eye palette textures, when I swatched them at the counter, they are definitely leaning towards shimmery (typical of Lunasol...Lunasol is known for their high shine eye palettes) and each palette has 2 matte shades for users to mix with the shimmer colors in the palettes. I find that the shimmery side, has more color payoff than the matte side of the palettes though. No swatches for the eye palettes yet, as I haven got about to using them yet...nor do i bear to swatch them yet. But when i'm ready to, I'll post swatches up. Sighs...I'm really such a HOARDER.... Pls click for enlarged images.
