0 Shiseido hydro powder eyeshadows

Recently, I rampaged through my drawers and saw a couple of Shiseido The Make Up cream shadows which I haven't used in a long time. But once I started, I kept using, especially the one in the gold color (It makes an excellent everyday lazy day kinda make up color). I like the texture so much that I have decided to post a review on these 2 hydro powder eyeshadows.

The only thing is that I bought these 2 hydro powder eyeshadows (Gold lights and Languid lagoon)from Shiseido The Make Up line sooo long ago that I don't even know by now whether these are still available @ the counters or not. XD

Texture: These are of a cream to powder, mousse like texture. Feels creamy but becomes powdery once applied on the lids. They are very very smooth and blendable (nothing like MAC's paintpots which are more cream like rather than mousse like). Both colors contain shimmers which actually adhere to the skin quite well. My personal favourite is Gold lights - which can be used both as a base for other colors or just as a soft wash or all over the eyes.

Gotta check the counters, whether they still have this range or not coz I really like the texture of these

0 My Beauty Diary Sheet masks

One of Taiwan's best selling brands for sheet masks, I decided to try out a few sheet masks from them; two of them being the cooling masks and aloe mask.

Cooling mask

It contains peppermint and green tea extracts that help to soothe and refresh tired skin. I really like the cooling sensation of this on my face - it really helps to refresh my skin, and replenish the moisture level in my skin. I use this when I am very tired after a long day at work and when I need something to perk my skin up.

Aloe mask

As the name suggest, the main ingredients in this sheet masks is aloe extract and rose fruit plant extracts which helps to prevent dryness and rougness. I find it effective in smoothening the dry and rough areas on my skin whenever I have a slight allergic reaction e.g small red and dry spots on the face.

These are sold in Asia, am not too sure if these sheet masks are available outside of Asia though. I find that after using countless of other sheet masks from other brands, I think my favourite is beauty diary coz I find it to be the most effective on me.

0 Make Up Forever Aqualiners in no 4 and no 5

Recently just bought 2 Aqualiners from MUFE in no 4 (a teal green with shimmers) and no 5 (a turqoise blue with shimmers) and I am very HAPPY to say that I am in love with these liquid eyeliners and I will be back for more colors.

Pros:

1. Waterproof - VERY waterproof, it takes more effort than normal make up remover to remove
2. I can draw 3 layers of this without it becoming too thick and crepy like some liquid eyeliners
3. It does NOT flake at all (unlike MAC superslick liners which flake on me :( )
4. The long handle makes it very easy to use and handle
5. Tip of eyeliner is firm, and not too soft to draw

Cons:

1. Hard to remove...but I dun mind coz i really love the colors.
2. Quite liquidy, Need to layer up for more opaque color - but once again I don't mind as once the colors are layered up, the colors are GORGEOUS.
3. I wished MUFE gave their colors NAMES instead of Nos, it's quite hard for me to rem  Nos.

I will definitely buy more aqualiners in the future. Love love them. Hard to find brands nowadays that sell beautiful turqoise and green liners. Geesh. I wished MAC didn't dced the colorful liquidlasts..

0 MAC Force of Love lipstick VS MAC Viva Glam Nicky

At first sight in the tube, I found that Force of Love lipstick looks really similar to Viva Glam nicky - both being hot pinks with coral undertones. But about swatching, Force of Love is slightly more reddish coral than Viva Glam Nicky (Nicky being a bit more neon pink than Force of Love)

Here are the pics and swatches of both lipsticks...

0 MAC Vera Neumann Haul

Oopsss... Bought these 2 mths back but have not got about reviewing these till now...

Being a die hard blush addict, I bought both pearlmatte face powders in Sunday afternoon and flower fantasy. Just like the previous pearlmatte face powder from MAC in lilyland, these face powders have a sheer finish, reminiscent of the sheertone blushers, only that MAC has added in a highlighting area in each of the face powders. U can mix the colors or use the colors seperately by themselves. As the words and ladybird pic is embossed right into the powder, I don't have to worry that they will go away after a few uses.

Being a sucker for greens and turqoise colors, I also bought the crushed metal pigment set in Butterfly party (loving the combination of purple turqoise, silver and blue in this set). Also bought Aloha crushed metal pigment (though Aloha kinda reminded me a little of the warm one in the one released from Spring color forcast). As the crush metal pigments are much more chunkier than the normal pigments which are much finer in texture, I usually will crush the pigment on my hand into smaller bits before patting the color on my lid either with a 242 brush or fingers. I find that synthetic brush like 242 works better for the crush metal pigments rather than brushes with natural bristles. Would advise patting on the lid rather than sweeping, as sweeping the pigments will cause quite a fair bit of fall out

Also bought the plushglass in confetti. I like the coral-ness of this plushglass which provides some color on my lips and is non sticky, and as well as plump up my lips. I love coral lipstuff loadss..so I had to get this.

0 In Extra Dimension skinfinishes and eyeshadows

I know I am kinda late to the party and slow in posting, but late is better than never. heh heh.
I am totally loving the cream to powder texture of the skinfinishes and eyeshadows in this collection - super blendable with decent color payoff. But alas due to budget, I only could  buy all 3 skinfinishes and 3 eyeshadows :( If I had all the $$$ in the world, I would so buy this whole collection cause they are all super blendable. So I ended getting up Whisper of gilt, Glorfiy and Superb for the Skinfinishes and Havana, Grand Galaxy and Blue orbit for the eyeshadows. I am totally in love with these products.

Skinfinishes

These are shimmery but definitely not as glittery as ur usual mineralized skinfinishes (Plus pt = no glitter fallout ). They have a metallic kinda texture which looks really good on the cheek bone area, more so than the MSFs which can look a bit powdery at times if not blended properly. I am fair but I still bought Glorify cause it makes a beautiful bronzey gold eye color on the eyes. The pigmentation of this skinfinish is to die for. <3 <3

Eyeshadows
As I have mentioned earlier in the posts, the texture of these shadows are of a cream to powder finish and color payoff is good and very blendable. Plus, they last the whole day on the eyes and do not crease @ all even without a primer. Definitely way much better than the metal x cream shadows imho. I wished I could have bought all, but unfortunately I am on tight budget for this mth, so I could buy only 3 and it was a very tough choice choosing 3 only :x

0 Jill Stuart Cosmetics Haul

Went on a holiday to Taiwan with my bf and bought my long awaited Jill stuart cosmetics. Was totally lemming for the mix compact blushers. The packaging is just soooo princessy. I love love love the packaging and I love the combination of colors in the mix compact blushers. They look too pretty to be used...I still don't bear to use them. Even the retractable mini brush that comes with the blush looks uber cutee too. I also bought 2 eye palettes from them (they are more towards the sheer shimmery side as they are a japanese brand cosmetic company) and an eye jelly.

0 MAC Naturally Haul

After skipping MAC's Daphne Guiness collection (The colors didn't appeal to me in in that collection, way to dark and dull for my liking :X), I made up for the lack of haul in MAC's Naturally collection.

I bought: All the 3 mineralized blushers in Subtle Breeze, Early Morning and Fresh Honey. 3 Mineralized eyeshadows in Daylight, Summer Haze and In the Sun, and 1 lipstick in A Perfect Day. I skipped both msfs in Blonde and Redhead as I already have them from an earlier collection.

My overall comments on this collection: As with the name of the collection, most of the colors in this collection are very subtle and neutral and are good for day to day wear.

Here are pics and swatches of what I bought

Mineralized e/s in In the Sun, Summer Haze and Daylight (from top to bottom)

Left to right: In the Sun, Summer Haze and Daylight  - Swatched dry

General comments on the MES: As with most MAC mineralized e/s, they go on pretty sheer when dry (esp for In the Sun..which I feel contains the most chunky glitters amongst all the MES from this collection. If u hate chunky glitters, I would advise u to skip In the Sun MES). Would recommend using it wet if u want higher color payoff from these  MES.

Top to bottom, left to right: Fresh honey, Subtle breeze and Early morning

Left to right: Fresh Honey, Subtle Breeze and Early morning

Fresh Honey mineralized blush kinda reminds me of a more orange and pigmented version of MAC peaches sheertone blush. Subtle breeze reminds me of MAC's coygirl sheertone blush with pronounced muave undertones to it. As for Early morning, it's a perfect color for medium to deep skintones but definitely gotta be used with a light hand for fairer skin ladies. All 3 mineralized blushers are more towards the matte finish as can be seen from the swatches.

Will post pic and swatch of A perfect day lipstick later on....

0 Dior Spring collection 2012 eye palettes

The first time I saw these eye palettes in one of those beauty blogs, I was drawn in to the lacy rose packaging. I bought both eye palettes, in Garden Pastel And Garden Rose. And to be honest, I m only buying them cause they look sooo pretty in the pan and I won't be using them, because i do not want the oh so nice pattern to be rubbed off. I bought the palettes solely for collection... I know some of us like to buy pretty make up but end up not using them because they are too pretty to be used. I am not too much of a packaging person but these palettes are too pretty to be missed! Sorry no swatches are available, as I don't plan on swatching them as they are for collection purpose :X :X :X

0 Updated make Up storage

Bought new storage from MUJI (A japanese store known for its neat storage containers - abeit price on the high side) to store more make up (yes...My make up table is big but I am OUT of space again... that means I have to seriously cut down on buying stuff which I don't need) and skincare.

Previously my make up table was very very cluttered and full of tall bottles of skincare and foundations which I had no other space to store. So with this Muji containers, I can store them neatly and stack these drawers on top of my existing make up tables...

Here's how the storage containers look...

For this particular storage, the top layer I store my lunasol eye shadow palettes and the 2nd drawer I store my skin care and some Urban decay eye palettes

For the other 2 containers, they are actually seperate, but because the dimensions are similar I can actually stack them on top of one another

I store my mac lipsticks and blushers on the upper 2 compartments and other miscellaneous items in the deeper container on the bottom

And here's how my make up table look like after I have stacked up all the containers... Less clutter of tall bottles on the table...

0 Jill Stuart Blush in 02 Sweet Mum

A sweet friend of mine bought this loose powder blush from Japan and gave it to me... and I have to say the packaging is totally sooo princessy!!! Even the retractable blush brush that comes with it is also so cute. Too bad this brand is not available in my country, cause I really love the packagin of this brand.

Color payoff wise is sheer with very very fine shimmers... Gotta layer up more for the color to show. But I don't mind, the packagin of this blush more than makes up for its lack of pigmentation :X :X
